It's crazy how much April Wine dominated Canadian radio for years. I saw them live around 1979. This song is pretty chill, but their specialty was classic rock, and actually had 3 dueling guitars, with Myles Goodwin's vocals soaring above. At the time April Wine, Triumph, and Rush were the dominant bands in Canada. Then came The Tragically Hip, which eclipsed all of them. If you haven't reacted to The Hip, you have to. You have no concept of how big The Tragically Hip were in Canada. The Prime Minister attended their final concert. That concert was broadcasted live in Canada, and most of us watched it.

Late comment on an "old" video from 2 years ago, but I heard or read that Tommy Lee was a big influence on The Rev in terms of showmanship. The Rev added extra flourishes and exaggerates in his playing to put on a show. But when it comes to the actual album recordings he was very deliberate and meticulous with what he wrote for his drum parts.

Gavin is an absolute monster. Not only does he have chops to die for, but he’s got incredible groove. He often gets accolades for his incredible technique, but he’s an amazing feel player. He makes everything he touches, sound as if he’s the only drummer who could be the only one who could be the drummer for that project. Easily one of my all time favourite drummers ever. And I’m fucking old…

Ningen Isu is a great band and riffiage is near good as Iommi's! Next I recommend for you to check out Vola and their drummer Adam Janzi. Excellent technically and has great ear for the songs.
